Hey Blackberry Smoke fans!
To win through Facebook:
The wheels keep rollin' on… and on… and on. If you're lucky, you win lug nut lottery.
"What the hell is that?" you ask. Mark a lug nut that looks lucky. When you stop, the nut
closest to top dead center wins. Take a chance and ante up big for the pot because Christmas
is coming up and Mama is forever in need of a new pair of shoes.
Thanks to everbody who has come out to the shows. We've been having a large time, as usual.
We had a great run out to Louisiana, Texas and Oklahoma. There were some great shows with
ole Jamey Johnson and our buddies The Last Waltz Ensemble and Snit's Dog and Pony Show.
(If you are in Austin, do yourself a favor and find a place called Torchy's Tacos. Mercy!)
Hold on a minute. I'm getting ahead of myself. We have added another member to our little
gang of vagabonds. His name is Jerry. Some of you may know him. He is a trip.(Pun intended)
Jerry's been having a blast with us. Take Panama City, Florida for example. We had a day off
after a show and Gene decided we needed to round up the gang and put it in the wind. Two wheel
style. Gene is a nut, but after all, he is a Sagittarius, you know. We thundered up and down
strip all day. Beep Beep, buddin' buddin'. Thanks a lot to the tweakers that we rented em'
from for givin' Doc a lemon.
Like I said, the shows have been a helluva good time. None more so than the Southern Ground
Music and Food Festival in Charleston, South Carolina. We played on Friday with Trigger Hippy,
Warren Haynes Band, ZBB and My Morning Jacket. It was great to see our old buddies, Steve Gorman
and Audley Freed. They killed it! Brit and Steve stood off to one side and were jealous of the
great "guitar nerd" discussion that Warren, Coy Bowles and I were knee deep in. Sorry, drummers.
Anyhow, the weather was freakin' gorgeous and the food was freakin' delicious. Can't wait for
On a sad note, please remember our friend Ken "Bird" McDaniel, who passed away last week. We
love you and will miss you, Bird! Please pray for his family.
